Birthday Weekend for Mom

Last Friday I got to celebrate my birthday all weekend long! It turned out to be a great 33rd birthday and it wouldn't have been so great if my husband hadn't gone above and beyond! Friday I got to sleep in and wake up to a yummy breakfast of crepes, turkey bacon and fruit. Ryan even had to learn how to cook crepes and did a fantastic job! Then it was off to the Dad's and Doughnuts at the kids school. The kids loving having dad their and I loved being the photographer since I was helping last year with it and only got one picture! The kids loved eating my breakfast and then getting a doughnut on top of that.

This year I helped with the read-a-thon and Treven was into it a 100%. This is my kids that hates to read and he was counting minutes that we have never in his life read before. He did a great job and his motivation was trying to win a scooter that the top reader of each grade would win. Even if he doesn't win I think he might have to get a reward for all his hard work!

After getting done at the school and doing some grocery shopping my mother in law, along with Julie and Lezlee suprised me with pizza for lunch along cake and ice cream! They were such sweethearts and it was fun getting together and talking while the kids played!

I think I gained about 10 lbs today since after a wonderful breakfast, a yummy lunch, we took off with the kids, minus Tyler who got to stay home and have a late night with friends, to eat and wingers with Ryan's family and some of my neices and nephews and then it was off to see the Lorax.

Then came Saturday and my mom and dad who were so wonderful and took the girls all day, since Ryan was out ice fishing with the Young Men, so Tyler, Treven, and I could go snowboarding all day with Jake. The snow was great and Treven and I had a blast hanging out while Jake and Tyler were out on the back mountain.

Finally the weekend was winding down and so Saturday night was spent just hanging with the kids and watching a movie. I believe I fell asleep at like 9pm, that must mean I am getting old=), but it was great to get a little extra Zzzzzzz's. Thank you to everyone who made this birthday great. I got some great presents from friends, good food and fun from family, and just spending time with family and friends made it the best weekend!

This is what happens when you tell your kids they can't play the Wii or the computer until the spend some time outside. I came home to find three boys sumo wrestling out on the tramp.

When dad's away the girls with play!

Ryan had to go to Houston for work for a couple of days so that left mom and kids home and with me not working, some time on my hands. The week flew by with getting read-a-thon things done, Scouts, Basketball, Gymnastics, Dentist, and having Carter spend the weekend with us. Friday was a great day of letting the kids play and then have their own movie night while mom took of and went to the movies with Holly. It was a great girls night out and fun to get out and watch a grown up movie since I had spent the first half othe night watching Puss and Boots and a lot of SpongeBob! Saturday we were up bright and early to go and cheer on Tyler's Basketball team in their last game. Even though the lost they had a great game with Tyler even getting a 3 point shoot off along with some other 2 pointers. He wasnt' happy about losing but it was great to finally see him get  aggressive and have a strong desire to win! I get so use to working at least one night in the weekend and so having two nights to play I kepts asking the kids what they wanted to do. Tyler and Carter were tired from their 9 am basketball game, staying up late making scary movies with Treven, and then playing with ipods until who knows what hour, they just wanted to hang out at the house all day. So since I don't sit well, I turned my night into the one person who would play with me, Halle and Emery, and we called Nan and Helen, Liz and Ellie and had them come over for a mommy/daughter PJ party!

It was fun having treats, doing Pedicures on the girls along with a facial, playing twister, musical chairs, and Just Dance on the Wii, and then letting the girls just run around. Treven even joined in the fun and had his toenails painted   and showed off his dance moves on Just Dance. The mom's had fun glaming upthe girls and then getting to sit around the table and talk. Thanks ladies for coming over and helping me have a little fun while the husband was away and making it a, as Halled put it, the best night ever with my friends! Poor Tyler and Carter just hid themselves in the back room playing games and watching Iron Man, so boys next time you better say yes when mom wants to go and do something!!!!!!

President Day Weekend

This year we stayed home for President's day weekend since Tyler had a basketball on Sat. It turned out to be a very fun weekend. I need to start taking more pictures but I did take my camera on two of our activities to document for the kids, just remember children you had fun and mom and dad must love you a lot!

Friday I let Tyler get out of some school so he could go snowboarding with his cousins Easton and Jacob and Uncle Steve. The had a blast and there is even a story about a run away snowboard! Treven and Halle weren't so lucky and got to stay home with mom, but they got to play with Dylan until 10pm so it made up for it and they got to have a movie night.

Saturday was Tyler's last basketball game until their playoff game for 3rd place. They had a great year and a great coach, Ryan. Even though he claims he knows nothing about basketball he did a really good job with the boys. Tyler had a great year and keeps getting better and better.

Tyler's supporting cast

After Tyler's game the kids got to chose either to go shooting or swimming and the kids wanted to g o swimming. So off to the Springville Pool we went along with Carter and had a fun time watching the kids play tag with Ryan, making gaint cannonballs off the diving board, um Ryan, and making sure that Emery didn't drowned since she has no fear of the water and loves to jumped into the pool! After the pool Ryan and I got to go to the temple with our friends the Roylance's while Tyler babysat. We are in a whole new world now with having Tyler being able to babysit for a couple of hours and we love it and he does a great job. AFter the temple we came back to our house to have a pizza and play games with the Roylance's and the Jackson's. We never got to the game playing but the kids took care of that while the adults gabbed the night away. Thanks guys for a fun night!

Sunday was church and a day of relaxing since Emery has had the hardest time sleeping the last two weeks. I don't know what it is but it feels like we have a newborn baby again. She has been getting up aleast three times a night! So we took Sunday as a rest day and took naps and watched a movie all together. Treven and Halle wanted a little art project and so we found the butcher paper and made some people for them to color. Dinner was at Janette's and then the kids got a sleep over with Luke and Dylan while Tyler went down to the Lancaster's house and slept there.

Monday was spent out in Orem since Treven had an assessment at the Sylvan learning center. So while Treven was at his assessment, Tyler was up at Sundance with Nathan, the girls and I spent a couple hours at the mall killing time at the treehouse and getting a little shopping done. After Treven's assessment the kids got to choose either Classic Skating or getting a toy. Well Treven can't pass up an oppurnitity to get more legos. So Treven choose a trip to walmart for a lego set while the girls wanted to go and do Build-a-Bear.

For FHE we were having a nice little lesson when Ryan told the kids he needed some help with a work project and so the next thing I have four kids in their swimming suits ready to help dad no questions asked. The project was finding out what would work better if you had to pop a balloon full of shaving cream or whip cream, you have to love games you have to come up with for a construction business meeting! Well we found out if you needed to have a game of popping balloons full of cream the whip cream explodes the best! Either way the kids had a blast, my shower got really clean, and the kids all smelled nice like shaving cream.
