Thanksgiving week had our family traveling out to San Dieago with the Averett Side for our family trip this year. Instead of a summer trip we decided to go over Thanksgiving and get out of the cold weather! The first night we spent down at the condo in St. George and then got up on Weds and drove the rest of the way to San Diego. Jackie had found this great hotel right in the bay and right across the street from Sea World. The cousins were beyond excited to see each other and the first night their was spent walking down to Mission Bay, checking out the beach and ocean and then walking back to the hotel so the kids could swim.
The view from our hotel room. Like I said Jackie found us a great spot!
Thanksgiving day we spent our turkey time at Seaworld. Seaworld was decked out for the holidays and it was fun to see all the Christmas decorations while it was round 80 degrees! It wasn't busy and the kids had fun riding some of the rides they had, watching the shows which our favorite was the dolphins, and bascially having a great Thanksgiving being with family and sea folk. Grandpa was the one that finally talked Emery into going on the Atlantis ride that was like splash mountain at Disneyland since she got scared the first time and wouldn't go on it. So after braving it with Grandpa the whole rest of the day she spend begging to go back again for another ride. This smart little cookie even found her own map, found the ride, and then kept coming up to me and Ryan and pointing at the map telling us she wanted to go here! For Dinner we had a little turkey dinner at the park and then it was time to drive over to Carslbad to our next hotel that was right across the street from Legoland.
Friday we split up with the older boys and the dads going out to the beach for the day while the rest of the clan along with Grandma and Grandpa went to Legoland. We had a blast going on all the rides and of course looking at all the lego made things in Legoland. Treven had picked what he wanted to do when he grows up, be a Legoland master builder! Grandma of course found us the best curros in all the land, ten times better than Disneyland, and Grandpa got down with Emery playing some musical instruments! The last time we came to Lego land we only had two little boys and the park wasn't that big, well this time it was fun to bring Treven back and let the girls experience Legoland that had gotten much bigger and better!
I love this picture of Jackie. I am usaully the one braving all the rides, but Jackie took the trophy this year and went on the crazy ride!
Saturday was our last day together and the Averett family along with Grandma and Grandpa had to leave early. We had a fun morning playing down at La Jolla beach letting the kids and dads boogie board while the girls had some fund bonding time on the sand. We played until the afternoon and then us and the Colton family along with Rachel went up into La Jolla and got some lunch, walked around, and saw more of the beaches before loading up and heading back to Utah. It was a great trip and I can't think of a better way to spend Thanksgiving then on a beach with family!
Loved this looking back and seeing Tyler and Halle holding hands while they were both asleep!
