Ryan I returned from London just in time for the kids to have their Spring Break the next week, which left us home for Spring Break since we both had to work. We started off our Spring Break with dying Easter eggs on Saturday night with the Strong cousins while the men were off to the Priesthood session.
Sunday was our favorite Sunday General Conference! Church in PJ's! We had an extra special treat with the Colton Clan stopping by to have lunch with us and watch the second session of conference. It is always great to have them over. They had to leave after the session and then we were off to Janettes to have another yummy Sunday dinner. We were supposed to celebrate Beckies birthday but she had a snag in getting down here so we came up with a great idea for the cake and ice cream. We did a make up Birthday celebration for Ashley since she did miss one birthday with us while she was on her mission. Then emery joined in and had to have us sing to her too.
With a stay-cation spring break I was worried the kids were going to get bored but they actually had a fun time hanging out with each other and having friends over. The first couple of days the kids just played around the neighborhood and Treven taught emery how to fake fight.
We did find a really fun activity with the Clements, Helen, and Schumtz's, ice blocking. I couldn't believe I hadn't taken my kids ice blocking before. So off to were I used to do it in high school Bicenntinal Park in Provo. After a picknick of pizza the kids had a blast going down the hill on their blocks of ice. Treven and Cole got really creative with using 2 or 3 blocks when the girls got tired of going up and down the hill. Emery probably loved it the most and was keeping up with Treven and going down head first most of the time while yelling her famous, YA WHOOOOO!
Thursday I found yet another thing we haven't done yet and rode Traks up to Salt Lake City to visit the Clark Planetarum. Janette joined us and Treven finally got to ride his train he has been asking me to do.
We had lunch up at Gateway and then made our way to the planetarium and enjoyed learning about space and watching a movie in the big dome. Emery loved the movie the most and kept asking me on every planet we were learning about if that is were the zombies lived. Hum, I wonder what has been on our TV when Tyler is babysitting, walking dead anyone?
Tyler had a big milestone over Spring Break and shaved his face for the first time. My baby boy is growing up!
Saturday we through everyone in the van along with Janette and headed down to Moab for the day to hike through arches national park. The kids and Janette had never been there and as Ryan put it, this was his playground when he was younger. We had fun hiking to delicate arch, landscape arch, and double arches. The kids favorite part was climbing up really high on the rocks, and of course Emery had to be right behind with mom trying not to have a heart attack over her going to high! We had lunch in the park. We played the license plate game and Ryan told everyone that he would pay $50 to however found a georgia license plate. We saw over 40 different license plates but no Georgia plates. That was until we headed down to Moab main to grab some pizza for dinner and look at the shops did we find the license plate, in a store. Janette was the lucky winner and found the plate in a souvenir shop! So pay up Ryan! It was a great family day and a long drive home since we were all a little tired from waking up so early and hiking all day!
